The end of the PDA is corrupted.Īll seems lost. And they had already released kharaa to the galaxy by the time Robin left. She was unable to get the kharaa or enzyme 42 samples, and Alterra has an iron grip on 4546B so no one can get the samples. She had already tried to leak the info, but no one believed her because she had no proof. In the room with the final document, you also find Robin’s final PDA with crushing news. You can’t transmit a message from the planet because of its magnetosphere or something. You have to build a rocket and find all the scattered stolen documents before you can leave this planet and tell people about Alterra’s plot. The leviathans also destroyed her ship and bases. Remember seeing that leviathan when you first left your escape pod/ship? Yeaaaah. She got killed by a leviathan just as you arrived. She also stole the incriminating documents, but was discovered and had to flee and hide on this uninhabited planet. She bribed someone to get you out of prison because she needs your help. Robin Goodall (the chick from Below Zero) had found out and tried to stop it. Alterra had decided to unleash Kharaa upon the galaxy, let it spread and make tons of money on “discovering” and selling the cure. Slowly, PDA by PDA, you piece together what had happened. The PDAs mention Alterra, some secret documents, and a plan to break you out of prison.
You find some woman’s belongings, a builder tool and some PDAs in the bases but no one alive. You find the remains of a few Alterra-looking bases, all destroyed by leviathans. The planet is supposed to be unexplored but you keep finding wreckage and PDAs. It’s a new planet so all fauna, flora and most of minerals and resources are completely new. You know, just as a reminder that this is Subnautica 🙂 You start as usual, gathering resources, making tools and scanning stuff. As you first leave your escape pod/wrecked ship, you see a horrifying leviathan jump out of the water in the distance and swim away. While approaching the planet, he hits an asteroid and crash lands. The autopilot takes him to an unexplored planet and can’t be overriden. He follows the instructions, boards an empty ship waiting for him and takes off. He finds a PDA in his cell with instructions for escape. Riley Robinson is in an Alterra prison for not paying his debt. Opening cutscene: It’s been a few years since the first Subnautica. We return to being completely alone on an unexplored planet, lots of mystery, and very little dry land. I tried to write it as a sort of a return to form after Below Zero.
